As a student in this master’s programme, is the scientific training and specialization of scientists in the fields of:
- “Bioinformatics and Computational Biology”
- “Neuroinformatics and Computational Neuroscience”
The programme will be operational from the academic year 2016-2017.
The programme consists of the following stages:
[a] a cycle of two weeks of intensive lectures taking place at the Department’s headquarters at the beginning of each academic semester,
[b] online synchronous and asynchronous learning processes, utilizing a relevant platform during all the weeks of study of the first two semesters.
[c] during the last semester the students will prepare their thesis.
The courses are semi-yearly and include lectures (theory, tutorials), research work and laboratory exercises.
The Greek language is defined as the teaching language with a few exceptions in specific courses in which English will be used.
The programme has been carefully designed in order to prepare specialists for a successful professional career not only in the academic but also in the research field. Through this programme various career paths are opened such us:
- In Biotechnology companies
- In Pharmaceutical Industries
- In Informational and Statistical Studies companies
SPECIFIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a major in Health Sciences, Humanities, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Computer science, Biology, Economics, Engineering or Agricultural faculties.
The duration of courses for the master’s degree is defined in 3 semesters.
